Dental Prescription Coverage Changes Cancelled

Please read the following from the HCA:

This is a reminder that the Health Care Authority (HCA) cancelled the implementation of the dental managed care for July 1, 2019, at the direction of the Washington State Legislature.

As a result of this cancellation, dental related changes to prescription coverage have been postponed.  There will be no billing changes for dental prescriptions for clients enrolled in an agency-contracted Apple Health managed care plans or the fee-for-service program in July.  The agency expects to implement dental prescription coverage changes at a later date.

Medicaid Transition to Managed Care Cancelled

The 2019 Legislature has directed the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) to continue to administer the dental Medicaid program through fee-for-service. The HCA may not proceed with a carved-out or carved-in managed care dental option at this time.
