Washington State Department of Health Expands Prescription Monitoring Program Data Sharing

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will now share Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) data with nearly all states and the Department of Defense.
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will now share Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) data with nearly all states and the Department of Defense. The new program expansion allows prescribers in our state to access additional information when looking at a patient’s prescribing history.

The expansion is a result of DOH’s new data sharing agreement with PMP InterConnect. The ability to share this data will help providers identify concerns such as duplicate prescriptions, possible misuse and drug interactions.

PMP data is protected health information and is secured throughout collection, storage and distribution. Find out more about the PMP here
