The Board of Denturists has determined a denturist in WA may place an implant prefabricated abutment.
It has been brought to the attention of the WSDA and the Dental Quality Assurance Commission (DQAC) that the Board of Denturists has determined that a denturist in Washington state may place an implant prefabricated abutment.
The Board of Denturists made this determination in response to an inquiry from a representative from the Washington Denturist Association concerning whether the placement of an implant prefabricated abutment fell within the scope of practice of a licensed denturist.
WSDA, DQAC, and others have expressed concerns with the Board of Denturists’ current interpretation of RCW 18.30.010, and this issue will be an item of discussion at the Board of Denturists’ Oct. 25 meeting.
Should you have concerns with the Board of Denturists’ interpretation, please consider attending the meeting.
