DDWA Annual Meeting Fails to Reach Quorum

Nov 17, 2025
WSDA is pleased to share that the Delta Dental of Washington (DDWA) Annual Membership Meeting failed to reach quorum.

WSDA is pleased to share that the Delta Dental of Washington (DDWA) Annual Membership Meeting failed to reach quorum.

Without enough participating members, DDWA was unable to proceed with its scheduled agenda. DDWA moved to adjourn shortly after convening the meeting, and Dr. Dennis Bradshaw was not reelected as member director.

Thank you to Washington’s dental community for taking a strong and visible stand against DDWA’s anticompetitive out-of-network reimbursement policy by not participating in today’s meeting. WSDA continues to call on dentists to not participate in any DDWA membership meetings until the company changes its policy.

As a reminder, DDWA can try to fill its board vacancy on a short-term basis, but that cannot happen unless three out of four members of its Member Nominating Panel (MNP) recommend a candidate. As part of our lawsuit settlement, there are two WSDA representatives on the MNP who are equally committed to pushing for a change in this policy.

WSDA continues to champion the needs of dentists and patients through strong dental benefits advocacy. We are currently participating in the Ruckelshaus mediation process with DDWA and other industry stakeholders to identify needed changes on non-network reimbursement fairness and dental loss ratio.

We will continue to update the dental community about DDWA’s out-of-network policy and the status of WSDA’s dental benefits advocacy. Thank you for all you do to serve your patients and the profession.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lisa Egbert
WSDA President
