Drug Take-Back Program Update

Drug Take-Back Program Update

The Drug Take-Back Program now has a page on the Washington State Department of Health website.
Please view the page here.

Consistent with Engrossed Substitute House Bill (ESHB) 1047, Section 4, the Drug Take-back Program has reached out to Department of Health-licensed drug wholesalers, retail pharmacies, private label distributors, and repackagers, requesting lists of drug manufacturers that sell pharmaceutical products in or into Washington State. ESHB 1427 requires these entities to respond no later than 90 days after the effective date of the legislation, or September 5, 2018. This allows the department to identify and contact covered manufacturers who must participate in a drug take-back program.

If you have questions about the Drug Take-back program, you may contact program staff at 360-236-4698 or DrugTakeBack@doh.wa.gov.
