Electronic Signature Option for DME Forms

Starting May 1, 2018, you may begin using an electronic signature on Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) forms related to durable medical equipment.

Are you interested in using an electronic signature on Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) forms related to durable medical equipment? This alternative signature method will be an option for you starting May 1, 2018.

The guidelines for using an alternative signature method are:

  • The systems and software products you use must include protections against modification.
  • You should apply administrative safeguards that correspond to standards and laws.

Signing a form electronically or by any other method means the signer and the provider are attesting to the validity of the information.

HCA encourages physicians to check with their attorneys and malpractice insurers about using alternative signature methods.

If you have any questions, please contact the Apple Health (Medicaid) Medical Assistance Customer Service Center at 1-800-562-3022.

Medicaid Transition to Managed Care Cancelled

The 2019 Legislature has directed the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) to continue to administer the dental Medicaid program through fee-for-service. The HCA may not proceed with a carved-out or carved-in managed care dental option at this time.
