The Washington State Office of Equity is gathering feedback about equity, diversity, and inclusion through a survey and listening sessions. The Office of Equity wants to gain insight from agencies across Washington, and WSDA believes it is important that the dental profession provides input into this process.
Input collected will help the development of a five-year equity strategic plan that addresses disparities, removes barriers, and bridges opportunity gaps. This feedback will lay the foundation for the Office of Equity’s efforts of promoting access to equitable opportunities for everyone statewide.
Strategic Planning Listening Survey
The quick 11-question survey is a mixture of multiple-choice and short-answer questions, and must be completed by August 31, 2021. It is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese. Survey questions include what Washington can do to achieve an equitable state, where an individual feels they currently are on their anti-racism journey, and general suggestions. The Health Care Authority (HCA) is partnering with the Office of Equity to distribute the survey, and when taking the survey please select “Health Care Authority, State” when the survey question reads “Which agency shared this survey with you?”. The survey is voluntary and confidential, and individual data sent to the Office of Equity will not be publicly disclosed.

Health and Equity Listening Session
In addition to the survey, the HCA is hosting two health and equity listening sessions to better understand equity across Washington State.
