Forthcoming Guidance to Postpone Elective Dental Care

Dental offices across the state will be receiving guidance from the Department of Health to “postpone all elective, non-essential dental procedures” until further notice.
Very shortly, dental offices across the state will be receiving guidance from the Department of Health to “postpone all elective, non-essential dental procedures” until further notice. We have been told this guidance will be effective immediately when it is sent.

In addition, Governor Inslee will be issuing an order with a clearer time frame for postponing elective, non-emergent medical and dental care.

WSDA strongly recommends that all dental offices follow this guidance.

As previously stated, WSDA has been in regular dialogue with our state’s public health officials. We were asked to provide guidance on parameters for dental care that should continue to keep patients out of hospitals and emergency departments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

WSDA’s Board of Directors has advised that “dental care related to the relief of pain and management of infection should continue to keep patients out of our state’s hospitals and emergency departments.”

Please continue to monitor your email for updates.

Sincerely,

Bradshaw
