Implants have changed dentistry, allowing us more restorative options than ever before. In order to place dental implants, there must be adequate quality and quantity of bone to create an osteotomy. In this lecture, we will discuss the importance of minimally traumatic extraction and socket grafting techniques for ridge preservation either for implant placement or for a fixed dental prosthesis. Dr. David Zhu graduated from the University of Washington with his bachelor’s degrees in economics and neurobiology, dental degree, and master’s degree and certificate in periodontics. A true Husky, he is also currently an affiliate faculty in the Department of Periodontics. Dr. Zhu is in private practice in Issaquah, WA at Northwest Periodontics & Implants.
