WSDA Academy: Acing the Anterior Implant
The keys to an esthetic anterior implant will be discussed, including implant position, tissue handling and tissue addition, emergence profile, and restorative concerns. Implant workflow will be presented to illustrate the process of moving from a failing tooth to a successful implant.
Upon Completion of this program, participants should be able to:
-Understand anterior gingival esthetics and the unique challenges of dental implant gingival esthetics
-Determine the ideal implant position
-Learn why and how to utilize soft tissue grafting around implants
-Understand the importance of the implant emergence profile, how to establish it at the time of implant placement, and transfer it to the final restoration

Dr. Weinstein earned his Bachelors in Economics, magna cum laude from Columbia University in 2004. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Harvard in 2008. He completed 2 years of General Practice Residency at the Manhattan and Bronx VA hospitals in New York, where he served as co-chief resident. Afterwards he moved to Seattle, where he received his certificate in Periodontics and a Masters of Science degree from the University of Washington in 2013
In 2013, Dr. Weinstein was awarded the prestigious Balint Orban Memorial Award for his research on Peri-implantitis. He has also won an award at the Volpe Prize, an international research competition for the best clinical research in periodontology. He teaches at the University of Washington as an affiliate faculty member and has lectured at the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference and the American Academy of Periodontology.
