Help Spot Health Workforce Trends
Employers across the state are joining a network of their peers to identify emerging health workforce demand trends as part of Washington’s new Health Workforce Sentinel Network.
By participating in the network, Sentinels can:
- Help ensure the State’s health workforce is prepared to respond to a transforming healthcare environment
- Get access to current and actionable information on emerging health workforce needs
- Compare their organization’s experiences and emerging workforce needs with similar employer groups
“On the ground” data gathering and rapid feedback can promote the expansion of key healthcare programs, help shape targeted training, and enable healthcare professionals to gain skills needed to better meet patient demand.
Sentinels will participate in a 10-20 minute survey three times a year, with results posted to an online dashboard to reveal broad industry trends by region. Each organization’s individual information will remain confidential.
How can I join and when can I see the results?
The survey will be repeated approximately every four months with results reported online within a month of each data submission period. The next opportunity to submit your organization’s data opens November 1, 2016, although Sentinels can register at any time online.

This network is funded by the Healthier Washington initiative and is led by the State’s Workforce Board in collaboration with the state Health Care Authority and the UW Center for Health Workforce Studies. Healthier Washington is the State’s vision for transforming the health care system to achieve better health, better care and lower costs for the people of Washington.
