WSDA Prevails on Non-Covered Services Issue
WSDA has successfully passed legislation in the 2010 session that prohibits dental insurers from limiting fees for services not included in dental benefit plans. The law is effective 6/10/2010.
Grassroots dentists made this success possible by responding to WSDA alerts to contact legislators at key times.
Please note that the new law only prohibits fee limits on procedures not covered by a dental plan. Covered services are defined as:
"Dental services that are reimbursable under the applicable insurance
policy or subscriber agreement or would be reimbursable but for the
application of contractual limitations such as benefit maximums,
deductibles, coinsurance, waiting periods or frequency limitations."
