Medicare Part D Enrollment Date Approaching
As of June 1, 2016, dentists will need to have either formally enrolled or opted-out of Medicare.
CMS-4159, authorized by section 6405(c) of the Affordable Care Act, requires that physicians and other eligible healthcare professionals who write prescriptions for Part D drugs either enroll or opt-out of Medicare in order for their Part D beneficiaries’ prescriptions to be covered. Even though Medicare only pays for a very limited number of dental services, dentists are still required to comply with this new regulation.
