2021 WSDA, ADA & Local Dental Society Membership Renewals

2021 WSDA, ADA & Local Dental Society Membership Renewals

Please continue to support WSDA by renewing your membership for 2021. Your renewal helps us continue to serve as Washington’s strongest advocate in support of dentists and your patients.

WSDA-ADA Logo

Thank you for being a member of the Washington State Dental Association, American Dental Association and your local dental society this year.

2020 has been a year of challenges, with the COVID-19 pandemic deeply affecting both our personal lives and the dental profession. I am incredibly proud of how the Association — backed by our 4,400 members — stepped up to face these challenges. I am also grateful for Washington's dental community putting their trust in WSDA. During the pandemic, our membership has grown to higher numbers than we have seen in years.

COVID-19 Support

WSDA has worked tirelessly to support our members during this difficult time. From successfully advocating for non-urgent dental care to resume, to securing over 1 million masks for Washington dentists, to providing members with the clinical information you need to safely practice, WSDA and ADA had your back. Most recently, we have fought to keep your practice safely open during new COVID-19 restrictions, and offered two rounds of vitally needed PPE through an exclusive group purchasing program for members.

Delta Dental Lawsuit Victory

This year, we also secured a transformational victory for dentists and patients by settling our lawsuit with Delta Dental of Washington. The governance reforms agreed upon in the settlement andapproved by Delta member dentists fundamentally shift the relationship between member dentists and Delta. Your governance rights have been restored and protected and member input will be heard and considered.

Renew Your Membership Online

Today, I am asking you to continue to support your Association by renewing your membership for 2021 if you have not already. Your renewal helps us continue to serve as Washington’s strongest advocate in support of dentists and your patients. You may renew quickly and easily online at wsda.org/renew using your ADA number:

Help WSDA devote our resources to members, not paperwork, by renewing your membership online this year. All members who renew online before Jan. 1, 2021 will be automatically entered for a chance to win a refund of their 2021 dues!

One-Time Dues Assessment

While renewing your membership, you will notice a one-time dues assessment of up to $300. WSDA Secretary-Treasurer Dr. Nathan Russell explains the necessity of this one-time assessment in a video to WSDA members, which I invite you to watch here.

I want to stress that this assessment, approved by the WSDA House of Delegates, is essential to the financial strength of the Association due to the cancellation of the 2020 Pacific Northwest Dental Conference — which normally accounts for 40% of WSDA’s annual revenue — and costs incurred from the successful lawsuit against Delta Dental of Washington.

Important Notes for Renewals This Year

  • We strongly encourage all members to renew their membership onlineNot only do you help WSDA devote resources to members, not paperwork, but you also will be entered to win a refund of your 2021 dues if you renew online by Jan. 1!
  • If you do choose to renew by mail and would like to ensure your payment is processed prior to Jan. 1 for accounting and tax purposes, please mail your renewal as soon as possible to account for potential mail delays. We must receive your mailed renewal at the WSDA office no later than Monday, Dec. 21 to ensure processing prior to Jan. 1. Please note that the WSDA office will be closed for the holidays from Dec. 25 through Jan. 1 and dues may only be paid online during this time. The office will re-open on Monday, Jan. 4.
  • Due to COVID-19, renewals by phone are delayed. All calls coming into the WSDA office are automatically routed to voicemail. While WSDA staff will do their best to return your call as soon as possible, we encourage members to pay online for fastest and easiest processing.

The strength of organized dentistry lies in our numbers. I ask that you continue to support WSDA by renewing your membership for 2021. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I look forward to serving you through the next year and beyond.

Sincerely,

Bradshaw
