COVID-19 Update | March 16, 7:45 PM

Throughout the day, WSDA leadership has been in ongoing communication with our state’s public health officials and providing active clinical input into evolving recommendations for reducing the communal spread of COVID-19.
We wanted to provide you with the latest update on the state’s response to COVID-19, especially as it relates to ongoing operations of dental practices.

Throughout the day, WSDA leadership has been in ongoing communication with our state’s public health officials and providing active clinical input into evolving recommendations for reducing the communal spread of COVID-19.

We know that many organizations including the American Dental Association have issued recommendations about postponing elective procedures in dental offices

We are in active dialogue with state public health officials and will defer to their guidance on the appropriate course of action for our state. We anticipate further guidance from state public health officials very soon.

As health care providers during a pandemic, we implore dentists to continue with the relief of pain and management of infection with their patients in order to keep patients out of hospitals and emergency departments. Please continue to adhere to CDC and ADA guidelines for infection prevention and PPE. The safety of our patients, staff, and dental colleagues is our highest priority.

We also wanted to make all members aware that WSDA is in active dialogue with several state agencies about potential economic and regulatory relief for dental practice owners and employees as a result of the impacts of this unprecedented event.

We will continue to share updates as they become available. Please monitor your email for updates and visit wsda.org/covid-19 for resources from the ADA and the Washington State Department of Health.

Sincerely,

WSDA Board of Directors
