Court Approves $80 Million Settlement in Class Action Lawsuit

A federal court has approved the $80 million settlement agreement in a class action lawsuit against dental product companies accused of violating antitrust laws by fixing prices on dental equipment and supplies.
A federal court has approved the $80 million settlement agreement in a class action lawsuit against dental product companies accused of violating antitrust laws by fixing prices on dental equipment and supplies. 

According to the preliminary approval of the settlement that was issued Jan. 8 by Judge Brian M. Cogan of the Eastern District Court of New York, any person or company that purchased dental products directly from Henry Schein, Patterson, Benco, Burkhart or any combination of those companies between Aug. 31, 2008, and March 31, 2016, may participate in the class. Some 142,000 dental offices and laboratories are expected to be eligible to take part.
