The committee will consider draft rule amendments that have the potential to significantly impact your practice. Some of the proposed rule amendments include:
- Requiring the sterilization of low-speed hand piece motors
- Requiring the use of HVE in all clinical situations reasonably expected to produce large amounts of aerosol splatter, such as using ultrasonic or sonic scalers, air-polishing, high-speed hand pieces, or lasers
- Requiring that water delivery systems be tested on each side of the unit at the three-way syringe or at the high speed location
