According to DQAC, "Goto Webcasting allows up to 5000 participants to attend the meeting with 1000 of those attendees able to use phone line option. If participation reaches 5001, the commission meeting will be cancelled. The dental commission will not be taking public comment during the meeting. Please send written comment to the commission at dental@doh.wa.gov."

Free KN95 Masks Still Available for WA Dentists
While supplies last, one box of 50 FDA-approved KN95 masks is available to any actively practicing licensed Washington dentist. Masks are supplied from the Washington State Emergency Management Division and are being shipped directly to dentists by The Dentists Supply Company (TDSC) on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have not yet ordered your one box of masks, please do so ASAP, as nearly 2,000 of 3,000 available boxes have already been claimed.

AIDS Education & Training Update
Dentists, EFDAs, dental assistants and dental hygienists in Washington state are currently required to complete seven hours of instruction in HIV/AIDS education and training in order to be licensed. However, as a reminder, effective June 11, 2020, this education and training will no longer be required.
During the 2020 legislative session, in an effort to update Washington’s laws regarding HIV transmission, the legislature passed Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1551. This legislation, among other things, removes the requirement for all health care professionals to complete education and training on the prevention, transmission, and treatment of AIDS.
The Dental Quality Assurance Commission will begin rulemaking in the near future to align current rules with the new law.
