Update to Emergency Dental Services Policy During COVID-19 Pandemic

HCA has updated its emergency dental services policy for orthodontic providers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notice for orthodontic providers:

Effective for dates of service on and after September 12, 2020, the Health Care Authority will reinstate the requirement that clients must be seen at least once in the quarter for CDT codes D8020, D8030, and D8080.

Medicaid Transition to Managed Care Cancelled

The 2019 Legislature has directed the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) to continue to administer the dental Medicaid program through fee-for-service. The HCA may not proceed with a carved-out or carved-in managed care dental option at this time.
