This course covers the history, evolution, and contemporary concepts of immediate full arch loading. The restorative technique itself will be discussed in detail. Diagnostic evaluations, case selection, surgical guide fabrication, day of surgery “Conversion," temporary phase considerations, final restoration techniques and considerations, and maintenance/recall will all be covered in detail.
At the completion of this presentation, you will be able to:
- Be able to identify who is a good candidate for immediate load full arch restorations. Case selection.
- Understand the basic work flow from diagnostics to final restoration.
- Understand the various restorative materials available when considering these restorations and their indications
A second-generation dentist, John was inspired from an early age by his father’s passion for the profession.
He attended the University of the Pacific in San Francisco for his dental degree and received specialty training in prosthodontics and implant surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. As a resident he was recognized for his achievements in his studies on occlusion and intercondylar distance. He simultaneously earned a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology from George Washington University during his residency. Dr. Petrini received his board certification in prosthodontics from the American Board of Prosthodontics and is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, an achievement few prosthodontists obtain. He has practiced in Washington DC, Okinawa Japan, San Francisco California, Walnut Creek California, and Seattle Washington. He currently resides in Normandy Park Washington, and maintains a full-time practice in Burien, Washington.
Professionally, Dr. Petrini has lectured extensively on various implant related prosthodontic topics. He is the author a quarterly newsletter “Advances in Prosthodontics” and has contributed to several scholarly publications.
He is a member of the following organizations: Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, WSDA, King County Dental Society, and various other local implant study clubs.
Outside of work, Dr. Petrini enjoys camping, boating, skiing, and fishing with his family. He is an avid cyclist, hiker, and outdoorsman. An Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow, he continues to give back to Scouting by volunteering his time in many different capacities.
