Dental anxiety can be a barrier to a patient seeking dental treatment and a challenge to the dental team rendering treatment. This course will provide an overview of the pharmacological agents available for adult minimal sedation, with and without nitrous oxide and oxygen, as well as methods for managing patient anxiety in the dental office. The advantages and disadvantages, as well as indications and contraindications, of commonly used agents will be discussed.
