Inslee fundraiser nets $17,000

WSDA member Dr. Christopher Pickel discusses policy with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay InsleeDentPAC would like to thank all of those who contributed to, and attended, the grassroots fundraiser for Democrat gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee. Over 50 dentists, dental students, and spouses attended the event on June 21 at the WSDA office in Seattle. Grassroots dentists from across the state attended the reception. More than 55 individuals contributed to the Inslee campaign and, combined with a contribution from DentPAC, raised over $17,000 for the event. 

  Jay Inslee has been a friend of dentistry throughout his career in public service. Congressman Inslee has served as a member of Congress (1993-1995, 1999-2012), state legislator (1988-1992), and regional director of the Department of Health and Human Services (1997-1998). Trudi Inslee, Congressman Inslee’s wife, has worked in the offices of three different Washington dentists. Congressman Inslee thanked grassroots dentists for their personal support throughout his career in public service. During his remarks, Congressman Inslee discussed health policy, job creation, and ways to improve the health delivery system.

  WSDA Past President Dr. Victor J. Barry served as the Master of Ceremonies. Dr. Bobby Virk, a WSDA member orthodontist and candidate for a House position in the 11th Legislative District, also attended the event.

  A fundraiser for gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna was held on Thursday, May 3 at the WSDA office in Seattle.
