WSDA Joins Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives

WSDA has joined The Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives, a coalition of over 35 dental health organizations and the AD Council (the non-profit behind Smokey Bear and “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk”). This coalition recently debut the first joint national multi public service campaign designed to teach parents and children about the importance of oral health and the simple ways in which they can help prevent oral disease.

WSDA Testifies to Protect the DECOD Clinic and other Safety Net Programs

WSDA Past President Dr. Jeff Parrish and WSDA members Dr. Glenn Govin and Dr. Nicole Murray testified in front of the Senate Ways & Means committee on December 6 to support continued funding for the Dental Education in Care of Persons with Disabilities (DECOD) prorgram at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. During his testimony, Dr. Parrish also advocated for the adult dental Medicaid program and continued funding for the Volunteer/Retired Provider Malpractice Insurance Program (VRP) which covers the licensure and malpractice insurance costs for dentists that only provide uncompenstated care. WSDA will continue to advocate for these vital dental safety net programs.
