On March 1, the University of North Carolina released a report on the effects of fluoridated drinking water on dental caries in Australian adults. The report, which was published in the Journal of Dental Research, showed that adults with greater lifetime exposure to fluoridated water had lower levels of caries experience.
Last weekend, The Bellingham Herald ran a piece on funding Adult Dental Medicaid and the impacts the program cuts have had on the dental safety net. The article also highlighted some of the charitable care projects organized by the Mount Baker District Dental Society. WSDA and the Coalition to Fund Dental Access are in Olympia working to restore funding to the Adult Dental Medicaid program. The entire story is posted below or can be read online here.
