NEW UNC STUDY SHOWS BENEFIT OF WATER FLUORIDATION FOR ADULTS

On March 1, the University of North Carolina released a report on the effects of fluoridated drinking water on dental caries in Australian adults. The report, which was published in the Journal of Dental Research, showed that adults with greater lifetime exposure to fluoridated water had lower levels of caries experience.

Dentistry in the News: Bellingham Herald Piece Discusses Adult Dental Medicaid

Last weekend, The Bellingham Herald ran a piece on funding Adult Dental Medicaid and the impacts the program cuts have had on the dental safety net. The article also highlighted some of the charitable care projects organized by the Mount Baker District Dental Society. 2013 Legislative Session Update

The Washington State Legislature is nearly two months into its 105-day session. This session has been a very active one for organized dentistry. WSDA has been tracking more than 30 bills related to dental workforce, loan repayment, dental access, dental insurance, licensure, and several other issues. The 2013 legislative session is scheduled to end in late April.
