Veterans Stand Down and Resource Fair at Green River Community College on June 8th

On June 8, the Veterans Stand Down and Resource Fair will be held at Green River Community College in Auburn from 9 am - 3 pm. The event will provide crucial care to area veterans, including dental and medical services, as well as resources for employment, housing, legal advice, food, and other social and human services to at-risk and homeless veterans and their families. At present there are more than 40 community partners participating in or helping to organize the event. Additional information about the event can be found here.

Carol Sterling, Program Manager of Supportive Services for Veteran Families at the YWCA, is hoping to attract 400-550 Vets and their family members, and is currently looking for dentists and assistants to staff the MTI van for the day. They are still sorting out how many volunteers they will need, but if you would like to help please contact Carol directly at csterling@ywcaworks.org.
