GIVING BACK IN KIRKLAND AND CLARK COUNTY

 At two recent events, WSDA member dentists, their staff and other volunteers rallied to deliver oral health care to adults who normally would have limited or no access. Since the loss of adult dental Medicaid two years ago, adults have had to go without all but emergent care in the state, leaving area dentists to do all they can to fill in the gaps

WOHF salutes Volunteers during National Volunteer Week

The Washington Oral Health Foundation is truly powered by volunteers, and we support dental professionals year 'round in their efforts to give back.  Last week was National Volunteer Week, and WOHF highlighted some exceptional volunteers who work with the Foundation’s core programs.  These are examples of volunteer opportunities that WOHF always has available, and if you are interested in volunteering with the Foundation, feel free to contact Tom Tidyman at tom@wsda.org.  Thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers around the state who help improve and enhance oral health for all Washingtonians.

Dr. Alison Han in Nepal

Dr. Alison Han and her husband, AC Sherpa, first started performing volunteer dentistry in Nepal in 2006. The pair had given back often here in the states — Han’s church organized events utilizing the Medical Team International dental vans, and she participated in other free dental day events, but she wanted to do more.

WOHF - Volunteer Opportunities

MTI Vans - WOHF is hosting MTI Vans in Seattle on 3/8/13, 4/19/13, and 5/30/13 and still have spots for volunteer dentists AND hygienists to sign up.  When hygienists volunteer alongside dentists at MTI Van events, we are able to treat twice as many patients in one day.  To volunteer, please email Ruth Abate or call 206-973-5229.
