ADA Releases CDT 2015 Codes 

This week, the ADA announced the release of CDT 2015. New books, training tools, and an app help dental professionals stay current on dental coding. Don't wait until it's too late – allow time for staff training before the codes go into effect on Jan. 1, 2015.

Medicaid Update


Effective September 15, 2014, the Health Care Authority (HCA) will require providers to send expedited authorization requests via email to dentalprovhelp@hca.wa.gov. In the body of the email providers will need to indicate the medical reason to prioritize the request and the urgency of a client’s appointment date. Please note that extraction authorization requests will no longer be expedited unless emailed to dentalprovhelp@hca.wa.gov. If providers do not receive a response to an extraction request seven days prior to a client’s appointment, please send a follow up email to dentalprovhelp@hca.wa.gov

The Washington Oral Health Foundation needs dentists and hygienists volunteers for 2 and 4 hour shifts on Friday, October 10 in Kennewick. Volunteers will be on hand to triage and screen patients. WSDA WINS THREE ADA "GOLDEN APPLE"AWARDS!


The Washington State Dental Association was recently awarded three prestigious Golden Apple awards from the American Dental Association: for Achievement in Dental School/Student Involvement in Organized Dentistry; Promoting Diversity and Inclusion; and an additional award in an open category for “The ACA and You,” an insert that appeared in the WSDA News. The awards, now in their 26th year, are given to constituent and component dental societies in recognition for their leaders, members and staff. Mr. Stephen Hardymon, Executive Director of the WSDA said, “This is a direct reflection of the hard work by the Board and the staff in setting a very high standard for others to follow. I would like to congratulate them for thinking outside the box, taking calculated risks and not accepting average as a standard.”
