« WSDA Testifies Against Midlevel Providers »

Yesterday, the House Health Committee held a hearing on several bills related to dentistry including HB 1516 and HB 1514. Both bills would create new midlevel providers in dentistry. The WSDA, which opposes both bills, questioned the viability of creating a new workforce member and spoke in support of better alternatives to dental therapists including dental residency programs and reinstating adult dental Medicaid funding (click on the video above to watch this portion). WSDA's testimony team included WSDA Members Chris Delecki, Chris Herzog, and Amy Winston and WSDA Lobbyist Linda Hull.

The House Health Committee also held hearings on HB 1330 (which WSDA supports) and two bills related to denturity HB 1270 and HB 1271. WSDA testified against HB 1271 and WSDA member Dr. Rob Merrill and WSDA Director of Government Affairs Bracken Killpack spoke against the bill as it is currently written.
