« Legislative Session Begins, Health Committee Members Announced »

The 2013 legislative session convened yesterday; the 105 day session is schedueld to end on April 28. Yesterday also marked the formal transition of power in the Senate from the Democrats to the Majority Coalition Caucus of two Democrats and 23 Republicans. Senator Rodney Tom will serve as the majority leader in the Senate. Democrats maintain a considerable margin in the House and Rep. Frank Chopp will remain the Speaker of the House.

The Health Committees in both chambers have had significant turnover since last year. The House Health Committee has nine new members (six new Republicans and three new Democrats). The Senate Health Committee has four new members (three Republicans and one Democrat) in addition to a new chair (Sen. Randi Becker). Here's the full committee lists for both committees:
