« House of Delegates Candidates: Dr. Randy Ogata, Dr. Douglas Walsh »

Dr. Randy Ogata, Dr. Douglas Walsh   Each week we will post the bios of candidates running for positions at the 2012 WSDA House of Delegates, in Walla Walla this September 13-15. This week, Drs. Randy Ogata and Douglas Walsh, running for ADA Delegate.

Dr. Randy Ogata, Candidate, ADA Delegate

Members are the life blood of our association, everything we do should be to benefit the dentists we serve. I have spent over ten years at the ADA level on various Committees, Councils, Task Forces and Commissions representing the students, new dentists, established practioners and those phasing into retirement.
As a past Alternate, Delegate, and Reference Committee Member at the ADA House of Delegates, I have represented all of dentistry at the highest level and on the toughest stage. Consistently fighting for member’s rights — your rights — and benefits. Because of my track record of involvement, I was appointed to serve on a task force that will improve the way in which the 11th District, with Delegates from 5 states, can better interact and exchange information. Included in these duties are the responsibilities of orientating all the new 11th District Alternates and Delegates to the ADA House of Delegates.
Finally I serve you as a representative to the ADA Council on Membership; the ADA teeters at a generational cross road and needs to start charting a course that stays true to our roots while being relevant to the current generations of dental students and new dentists. While councils can propose resolutions, only Delegates can enact those proposals through the actions of the House. Please allow me to represent your interests, our members’ interests and our profession’s interest as a WSDA Delegate.
I humbly ask for your support.

Dr. Doug Walsh, Candidate, ADA Delegate

The critical issues facing the ADA with their state implications such as health care reform, midlevel providers, and international accreditation, make this a crucial time to have a dedicated and well informed ADA House of Delegates.
I’m primed by the experiences and utilizing the relationships I developed during my years serving you as 11th District Board member of ADPAC, where most of the Board members also serve as active Delegates to the ADA HOD, by my experience with the ADA HOD dating back to 2001 as an Alternate Delegate, and more recently as a Delegate. I am confident and ready to serve.
With your support, I look forward to continuing my work with the very talented WSDA team of Delegates that has consistently provided significant guidance and leadership to the ADA House of Delegates as it serves the WSDA dentists.
