While the WDS upheaval may not be directly tied to changes in healthcare reform, I am anxious to learn if there can be some productive interactions brought about by the new legislation. The undermining of provider/third party payer relationship purposely carried out by James Dwyer of WDS over the past five years or so is very seriously threatening the relationships that facilitated high levels of care and quality that has been crafted over the past decades since WDS was created in 1954. If there is anything at all that can be done to mitigate this problem as we go forward under health care reform, it will be a true gift to dental care as we know it, and to the profession of dentisty.
