In the past few months, the American Dental Association (ADA), in conjunction with a host of partners, has released two important resources focusing on oral health education.
Mouth Healthy, the ADA's new public-focused website is full of facts and tips about the mouth and its link to overall health. It contains an A-Z listing of oral health related topics, and loads of information on oral health during pregnancy, for babies and teens, and more. It can be a powerful resource for you and your patients and can be an excellent source of content for your practice's website.
In addition, the ADA, in partnership with the AD Council, has launched their 2min2x Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign. 2min2x.org is focused on educating children in a fun way about brushing their teeth for two minutes, two times a day. The site hosts a series of PSAs that broach this subject in a humorous way. There is also a "Watch & Brush" section that contains two minute videos for children to watch while they brush their teeth. If you need some fun materials for your office that address getting kids to brush their teeth, 2min2x.org has developed a series of educational posters based on their PSAs that are available to download and print. They would serve as great talking points and keep the conversation on oral health and prevention light.
