County residents in the Spokane District Dental Society experience a multitude of activities and enjoy the area’s rich history. Here, the outdoors is in its most natural state - where towns are small and manmade attractions pale beside unspoiled wildlife, majestic mountains, rivers and lakes.

Whether you enjoy biking, hiking, birding, fishing, hunting, or water sports, the Spokane area is the perfect place to live and work. The North Pend Oreille Scenic Byway provides residents with an opportunity to experience the solitude of the Selkirk Mountains and to discover the legacy that local pioneers have left in this northeast corner of Washington state.

The city of Spokane, the heart of the Inland Northwest, encompasses Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho and Western Montana. The name comes from the Native American tribe that makes its home in this area and means "Children of the Sun," which is exactly what residents find in Spokane.
