Volunteers Needed for New Committee on Regulatory Affairs
With the passage of HD-11-2017, the WSDA dissolved the Committee on Government Affairs (legislative efforts will continue) and created a new Committee on Regulatory Affairs to focus more extensively on regulatory issues handled by the Dental Quality Assurance Commission (DQAC) and other government agencies handling regulatory issues relevant to dentistry.
The committee will be appointed by the Board of Directors and will be comprised of up to twelve at-large members serving two-year terms and a committee chair serving a one-year term. Both at-large members and the committee chair will be eligible for reappointment.
WSDA is currently looking for nominees for both the committee chair and at-large committee members. If you are interested in getting involved in this very important and meaningful work, please contact WSDA’s Director of Government Affairs, Mellani McAleenan, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
At-Large Committee Members:
- Will attend regular telephonic or in-person committee meetings as needed
- Will participate in electronic votes as needed
- Will review regulatory information provided by staff and provide guidance regarding how to proceed
The Committee Chair (in addition to the aforementioned expectations):
- Will be expected to attend the eight regularly scheduled DQAC business meetings and other meetings as deemed necessary by the committee
