Attention Medicaid Providers

With the effective date of the new rules of Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act just around the corner, it is important to pay attention to the different implementation deadlines. The American Dental Association (ADA) has put together a very helpful checklist to help you track what you need to do to comply, how to do it and when to do it.

If your practice receives certain federal funds from programs such as Medicaid, CHIP or Medicare Advantage plans, you are required to take steps such as posting taglines about free interpreter services in multiple languages—as well as nondiscrimination notices—in your office, on your website and in significant publications and communications.

Please note that dental offices are not required to post notices of nondiscrimination and taglines until October 16, 2016.

Members can find a list of sample statements of nondiscrimination and taglines in Washington's top 15 languages here on The Source (log-in required).

Make sure to check out all of ADA’s Section 1557 resources today!
