2016 National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
This Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., local authorities will be setting up collection sites throughout the state where health professionals may dispose of any unnecessary or expired prescription drugs.
The misuse of prescription drugs has been classified as an epidemic by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, approximately 6.5 million Americans abuse prescription drugs, and drug overdoses are now the leading cause of injury-related death in the United States.
